Out of the top ten skills employers look for from college graduates, I believe the ability to work in teams is important. I feel this way because if you get a job in a medical or business field, its very important that you can share ideas with your co-workers and listen to your boss. A lot of employers look for a team player and someone who won’t give them trouble. I have that ability and I also can work independently.
Another important trait I have is the ability to analyze situations and give practical solutions. This is important because I want to be a psychologist. As a psychologist, I would have to analyze my patient’s problems and give them practical wisdom. I’m also good at taking the lead. This is important in all businesses, because no employer wants someone who slacks.
One skill that will help me the most as a psychologist is a strong sense of ethics and integrity. I’m good at this skill already because I have high morals. This is important to have as a psychologist, cause I don’t want to give my patients wrong types of advice or put them in danger. It’s important to have this skill in general because nobody wants to hire or work around with someone who has a poor sense of morals.
One skill I can approve on is the ability to think clearly about complex problems. As a psychologist, its important that I know how to think clearly about what the patient is telling me so I know how to respond. I would also like to improve this skill, cause I don’t want to fold under pressure when given a challenging situation. This skill will also help me in life aside from my job. If I come across a challenging issue in life, I don’t want to fold under pressure or say things I don’t mean because the situation is challenging.

I Am
I am Chelsea J.
I wonder where the sun goes at night.
I hear a bird chirping
I see mountains in the distance
I want a private jet
I am Chelsea J
I pretend that i am a famous dancer.
I feel ecstatic
I touch the clouds above
I worry about life
I cry about my grandfather
I am Chelsea J.
I understand that life is going to be difficult
I say that everybody is dying to live
I dream about touching stars
I try to do my best
I hope that people can accept me for me
I am Chelsea J

That feeling when you’re no longer under rule.
Or nobody can hold you back from your dreams
Being relieved from any anxieties you may have had
Either mentally or spiritually.
Freed from
Reality or the surreal.
Endure your chains for now, cause soon you’ll be able to
Enjoy your freedom.

I’ve got credits to get
School work to catch up on
Have to study after school
Then practice after that
No time to sleep
Barely time to eat
Just get up the next day
And repeat
I repeat until its Friday
Then comes the weekend
Saturdays to sleep in
Or having fun with my best friends
Wash clothes on Sunday
Wash dishes Sunday night
Get in bed at Ten
Then comes Monday
and I repeat it all again .
I hate Mondays.

I will never forget that day in 7th grade when my teacher announced that we had to memorize and read aloud a poem to the class. I was terrified. I hated public speaking! We had a week to find a poem and memorize it. I picked Alone by Maya Angelou. It took me a good while to memorize it and when I finally did, I had to make it sound good with feeling. So, I practiced for days in front of the mirror.
It was eventually getting closer and closer to my presentation day. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole week! I was praying I would get sick or something so I could skip my day. But, I realized if I did that I’d be the only one presenting. It was like I couldn’t catch a break! Finally, it was my day. My friend was trying to make me feel a little better about the whole thing, but she ended up doing the opposite. “Its not that bad Chels, ” she started. ” Just look at me the whole time”.
Waiting for my name to be called was like waiting on death row. My hands was shaking, knees were wobbling. I even thought I was going to forget my lines! I walked up there like a dead man, sat on the stool and waited for nothing to come out. Suprisingly, when she said go- words actually came out! The poem was delivered perfectly, and when I was finally done I looked at my friend who was smiling. That really gave me comfort! I passed with an A, and thanked God it was over.
This experience really helped me out later in life, because a year later in Eighth Grade; I delivered a self written poem at Graduation. Not in front of 31 people, but 100+ on the stage! I was no longer afraid of public speaking. I was very proud of myself and so was my seventh grade English teacher, who was also there at the Graduation. What an experience!

If Mrs. Jones hadn’t taken Roger home with her, he could have grown up without knowing right from wrong. He might have grown up to become a robber or a crook and ended up in jail. Since she helped him he probably learned from that experience.

1.
What lost me in the article is why now, when the world is in a obviously horrifying condition- that people now choose to create these electric cars. also , i was confused at why these creators think making electric cars will help the economy & Earth. You won’t really be saving money. Reason being is that people with regular cars will have to spend a good amount of money for this new car. also, electricity bills will probably be through the roof since you have to charge these large cars. you can think of it as almost leaving all the air conditioners, televisions, etc running for a month straight. It seems like an unnecessary nuisance to the common household family. Smart, Green idea- But, probably poorly thought out.
2.
I think the theme of this article was that these new electric cars are supposed to be helpful. As I mentioned earlier, I think it could possibly work; but, at the same time it could be a waste of money.
3.
Do you think the emergence of electric cars is a “false dawn”? Will they last,
or are they a fad? Why? Why not?
I do believe that the emergence of electric cars are a false dawn. I don’t think they will last and are something new to 2010. The reason I believe this is because if people really cared about “Going Green”, this idea wouldn’t have been pushed off for so long. As mentioned in the article, many designers have put it off because they weren’t sure how the Public would take it. Also, I think it can be a fad because there’s been many “Go Green” inventions that people get hype over and then realize it was a waste of money. So, no I do not expect to see this around too long.

I’m from the gum on cement
From the grime on the streets.
I am from the hate and disloyalty by others.
I am from the books,
The music whose sweet jazz melodies,
That used to play in constantly burn in my mind.
I’m from the giggles of best friends,
The warm hugs of a mother,
And brotherly love.
I’m from the Spanish rice,
And big breakfasts.
From the first wobbly step, to the first word.
I am from the playful summers and the loving winters.
The laughter, friends, and family will be forever saved in my mind.
I am from those moments in my life.
